Following a chance encounter at a family photography conference many years ago, we've since shared life stories, the enneagram, and a common love for documenting childhood and motherhood the way it all feels.

How is the course run?
Great question! We have designed this course to be 100% self paced so you can learn and complete it in your own time, in the hours that suit you. This could be in the suggested 6 weeks (one module per week) or you might want to complete it over 12 months- both options are A-OK!
We do however, hold monthly 'Lunch + Learn' Zoom sessions over the lunchtime time slot where you can jump on, ask questions, get feedback & make friends with other photo-takin mamas from all over the world! These sessions are to be thought of like the cherry on top and if you can't make these session there is no need to worry, we record all of them and upload them to your portal so you don't miss out!

"What computer or software do I need to complete this course?"
Most common question
Good question... we suggest a computer and access to Adobe Lightroom. And don't worry, you can download the full version of Lightroom on a 7 day FREE trial. After that it's $14.29 per month.
We recommend starting your trial in week FOUR (editing week) and then you can decide whether you'd like to pay per month after that.
You can also download the mobile version of Lightroom for FREE that you can use to edit images too. We do recommend learning the desktop version (as mobile is slightly different) but the principles we teach you are the same and can be translated to the mobile version if you can't access a 'proper computer.'
You're looking for a general photography course. This course teaches all you need to know about photography however is tailored to mums, children + family photography (though dads are most welcome)!
You're happy enough with your phone imagery and don't feel you need to improve.
You prefer to learn by reading a manual.
You're already a professional family photographer. We would love to cater to you in future, but you might find this course teaches you what you already know.

We know there are lots of Mamas* that want to learn photography in order to snap their own kids and also not overload their brain with all the different photography genres [like lots of other beginner courses do] so we've tailored this journey specifically to these Mamas. While you don't need to be a mum, we would anticipate you have a love for kids and documenting life.

A note that you will need a camera that can be put into manual mode (not just a phone camera) to actually put this course into practice and make the most of the teaching delivered. We're a bit biased but our cameras have been the best investment of our lives!

Everything we teach in our course comes from the years of experience we have had as family photographers however starting a business is an entirely different ball game! While we know this course will give you the skills you need to capture beautiful memories, where you take your new knowledge and skills from here will be entirely up to you, your aspirations and your heart.
WILL THIS COURSE HELP ME START A FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS?
Maybe this means it's even more important for you to begin documenting this time you have with them! In all honesty though, neither your age or their age will ever be an issue. There is beauty in memories from every life stage, the techniques we teach are universal and it is never too late to begin capturing life and cherishing memories. Who knows where it will lead?!

Our course is structured so you receive new video tutorials each week, which would take an hour or so each week to digest, with an additional hour of suggested practice time with your camera.
We anticipate sitting down each week with a cuppa and a fresh new module will feel nothing like work, and a lot more like something that sparks creative joy, and maybe even help you approach motherhood and parenting in a new light too (our photo recipes are a great help here!)

ONCE I JOIN, WILL I GET ACCESS TO ANY FUTURE UPGRADES?
We recommend access to a laptop to view the course materials (however we have had students opt to learn on their ipads instead which is also fine)! The only software you will need is Adobe Lightroom which we suggest you access using a free 7 day trial during Module 4 and then decide whether you would like to continue access thereafter. Yes, our course teaches you to take beautiful photographs, but also to slow down, to appreciate the season that is, allowing you to see motherhood in a new light in a way that gifts you more than you imagine.
HOW IS THIS COURSE DIFFERENT TO OTHER PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES?
Our course is delivered online through weekly modules that include video tutorials, accompanying pdf downloads, homework covering both theory and practice, as well as a library of practical exercises for you to try (have you seen our amazing photo recipes?). We provide guidance and feedback along the way through our facebook group exclusively for participating mamatography students.
WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE COURSE?
